Time For a Change
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009
Today, we have a new President of the United States. Finally, we are rid of George Bush and his habit of thumbing his nose at the American Constitution. No more wire taps, invasions of privacy, or torture. No more arresting people as “enemy combatants” and holding them indefinately without a trial.
This is a historic day in the annals of American History. The son of an African immigrant, a Black man, is now our commander in chief. It’s been a long journey, but our country has finally achieved the dream of racial equality.
It’s time now to throw affirmative action out the window. It is an unfair and unconsitutional practice. No American should be judged based on race or gender. Yes, Blacks and women have suffered prejudice, but giving them priority is plain and simple reverse discrimination. Two wrongs don’t make a right, and I call on President Obama and the Supreme Court to recognize that fact.
It’s time to get rid of organizations that are dedicated to the advancement of one race over another. This also is discriminatory. The need for organizations like the NAACP is over. Time to disband it. If we really want a color-blind country, this is a necessity.
Let’s move on to the next chapter in the book of American History.
