American Right Wing Hypocrisy
Wednesday, August 17th, 2011
The right wing politicians are fond of telling us that they will not compromise their ideals that government should stay out of our lives, and that their platform is for strict adherence to the Constitution. So lets take a look at their “ideals” and their stances about particular issues.
Government is inherently bad
We hear this over and over. But if government is so bad, why are they so eager to become part of it? And why, when they do become part of it, do their ideals take a back seat to lobbyist money and local earmarks?
Government should stay out of our lives
They say they want government out of our lives, but they want the government to ban abortion, gay marriage, and gay adoption.
The government should not give money away.
The government should not give away money in the form of social programs like welfare, social security, and unemployment compensation, but it’s fine to give subsidies to corporations, and ignore tax loopholes that allow them to avoid taxes completely.
People who receive unemployment compensation are freeloaders.
The right continuously complains about the lack of jobs. But they complain just as loudly about the people who are unemployed. Apparently you’re a freeloader if you can’t find a job in this period of high unemployment.
Low taxes means corporations can create more jobs.
The current tax rates are the lowest they have been in 50 years. Yet while unemployment skyrocketed in 2010, instead of that money being used to create jobs, corporate CEO salaries went up 27%.
They are strict constitutionalists.
They insist that this is a Christian nation, despite what the first amendment says. There cannot be a Mosque a few blocks from Ground Zero, because it would dishonor the site, but a Christian cross should be put on the exact site of the WTC.
Governor Rick Perry says that Texas should secede from the Union, which clearly violates the definition of treason in the Constitution. But if the Treasury legally prints more money, that would be treason, according to Perry.
There’s so much more
I could go on and on, but frankly, it’s unnecessary. Just tune into FOX news for the complete roundup. “Fair and Balanced”? ROFL

This was an excellent piece. You should send it to a widely read paper like the NY Times.
